|712||2/20/17||Case Manager||The Case Manager is responsible for a portfolio of internal cases and acts as the point person for all clients and medical experts involved with that matter. This position coordinates all events associated with the case portfolio and includes personal interaction with the experts, their staff and our clients. Tasks: Interface with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and insurance professionals to familiarize them with the professional services of the Company, assign medical experts, and assist legal and insurance professionals with delivery of cases to the Company and the ongoing medical expert commitments throughout the legal progression of cases – this includes scheduling Independent Medical Exams, depositions, trial appearances, etc. Manage portfolio of medical expert case assignments through the use of case management software in a professional, friendly and accommodating manner. Assist medical experts with deadline reminders and case commitments while working closely with client’s legal staff and expert’s medical staff to deliver within the requested or required timeframe. Together with the Case Coordinator and the administrative staff, act as “the face” of the Company for new and current clients; must always be professional, friendly, knowledgeable and ready to solve problems. Pay attention to case schedules, including monitoring of case milestones: expert analysis, expert reporting, depositions, independent medical examinations, and trial appearances; keeps current with scheduled case status checks to anticipate near term deadlines and prepare experts accordingly. Monitor and gather expert time reporting for billing and accounting purposes. Work with clients to assist in collection of outstanding invoices. Report closed cases to accounting, administrative personnel and experts to properly and legally dispose of cases. Review affidavit and counter-affidavit requests and assists medical experts in production of the same. Recognize issues for the expertise of outside counsel and works with such counsel to perform defined tasks. Maintain relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer-relations strategies. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent in the legal field. Comply with all corporate policies & procedures. HIPAA certification shortly after employment. Qualifications (one or more of the following): Paralegal or highly qualified Legal Assistant. Competencies: Familiarity with the legal system and law firm structure with knowledge of the discovery process and its relationship to the Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability prioritize and organize work to achieve position objectives and goals. Enthusiasm for team participation and leadership. Dependability, realizing the gravity of the legal and medical issues that characterize the Company’s business; ability to treat people and cases with respect.
